I need to improve the sound quality of my Car Audio. I will not like to change the Head Unit as it is integrated with the Dash board and i may lose the functionality of the Steering mounted controls if i change the Head Unit

As far as i know, the audio system is a NIPPON make (NSCR-02), with probably 6" speakers, front and rear. This system has (this is what i gathered from other websites) one pair of Pre-Out.

What can i do to improve the sound quality, without changing the car body parts as such as i do not want to get into Warranty related issues ?

Well, there are three improvements possible:
1) Change the stock speakers, atleast in the front to components.
2) Add amplifier to power these front components
3) Add a subwoofer and an amp. to power the subwoofer.

For options 2 & 3, we can make use of a single 4-channel amp. since it has 1 pre-out, we need to use a Hi-Lo or LOC to connect the signal lines to amp.

None of these options void the warranty.

Thanks Raghu. Appreciate the help.

I was going through a few options and since i am a complete duffer at this, would gladly take any help that you can provide.
1. Component Speakers in the front - Polk Audio db6501, are these good for the purpose.
2. Amplifier - What is the difference between a full range and Stereo amplifier. Which one should i go for ?
3. Sub woofer - Where will this be placed ? Will it be placed in the boot ? Does it take too much space? Also can i just change the speakers at the back and forget about using a sub woofer.

Thanks in Advance for your help.

Yes, Polk Audio db6501 is very good fit.
Subwoofer will be placed in the boot space. It does occupy some space. Imagine 1.5 cu. ft. space.
Full range and stereo amps are not the categories. stereo means Left & Right channel. You will get 2-channel or 4-channel in them. In case of 4-channel you will get stere (i.e. left/right channels) for both front and rear speakers.
Other kind is mono amplifier, which is single channel - bit costly but effective for subwoofer. Usually mono amps will have bass boost circuitry to boost the thump.

Rear speaker, in general, speakers of diameter less than 8 won't be capable of reproducing frequencies below 60Hz or even 100 Hz properly. So, such speakers are never a replacement for subwoofer.

Thanks Raghu.
That was very clear. So you are suggesting me to leave the rear speakers as it is and add a sub woofer.

Will now do some scouting to get a good price for these.

Could you suggest a good amplifier (4 channel) ? And also a Subwoofer.
Thanks in advance.

Look into :
Blaupunkt VA 475 @ Rs. 13.5K
Sub: Polk Audio DB 1240 (price: 6K) and use the above said blaupunkt amp.'s two channels in bridged mode to power the sub. Other two channels to db 6501's .
