I am planning to upgrade system in my WagonR. I currently have Sony Explode with 4 sony speakers and AUX option (non-USB). I do not remember the model number but it is outdated model. I purchased the system in 2006. Now I would like to upgrade the system and i absolutely dont have idea how to proceed. My requirement is USB. Is it a good idea to install an AMP in small end cars like Wagon R. I also want to upgrade my speakers and want to mount components for special effects. I request your detailed guidance and would also would like to know how much it would totally cost me (approximate range)
Thanks for your replies

Would you like to have subwoofer?
And its better if you can amplify the component speakers. If you don't want sub we can suggest 2-channel amp. If you need sub, we can think of 4-channel amp: 2-channels for front components and other 2 bridged to sub. Please let us know and also what is the budget you have planned for it?

Sub woofer is not required. My Budget is maximum 30 K (which should include Head unit, speakers and AMP). I hope I am sounding sense!!

I was just browsing through the head units for sony and Blaupunkt. Which would be better Blaupunkt Hamburg MP68 or Sony CDX-GT686 UI?

okay.. 30K should be fair enough. I would vote for Hamburg MP68.
I think, you should add Polk Audio db6501 components in the front powered by Sony XM-ZR6022 2-channel amp. You can also go for Hertz ESK165 component speakers.

PS: JBL GT5-S422 & Kenwood KAC-7203 2-channel amps also will fit.

ooops .. sorry .. it would cross the budget.. Hamburg MP68 itself will eat up 19K.
I guess you can choose Hamburg MP57. It costs around 14K.

Thanks

I think it is with bill. In grey market price usually prices are 60-70 %
amp is definetly helpful. any good speaker you use will not sound good at high volume without amp. amp is recommended.
@Anil, MP68 is available now??

Thanks Bassfreak. if that is the case i can go for MP68 as it would cost me max. 13k in grey market. how much would the other units approximately cost me with bill in total as recommended by Anil:
1) Polk Audio db6501 components in the front
2) Sony XM-ZR6022 2-channel amp
3) Back speakers?? which model should i purchase?? What will be the cost?

The reason why I am asking is this would give me an idea when i am negotiating it in the market.

Thanks for all your help @bassfreak @anil

Further to my above comments/questions, will i get front and back speakers (4 speakers ) + 2 components as a kit/package in Polk Audio db6501 model. I am not sure how it goes and hence need your detailed guidance. Thanks

The Polk Audio db6501 is just component speaker system - you will get 2 midrange woofers + 2 tweeters + 2 crossovers, when you buy a pair of db6501.
So, you can fit them in front 2-channels (left/right) only.
For rear you can buy polk audio db690.

Approx. prices:
db6501  - 7500/-
db690 - 4500/-
XM-ZR6022 - 3990/-

Amp kit - 1200/- (amp connection kit by tsunami or scosche)

Thanks a Ton anil for all the info. I only did not understand the last one..What do u mean by Amp kit?? I am not sure.
Also, i enquired about Head unit Hamburg MP68 is not available in market. Any idea? have they stopped manufacturing?? i would also like to know the difference b/w MP68 and MP57. since there is a big price difference..what special features MP68 will have which MP57 will not have.

Thanks again for all the info. I am planning to shortly upgrade my system. Once i do it I will provide you all feedback

Hamburg MP68 is very much available with bill and warranty. I don't know about the gray market. Mp57 lacks bluetooth A2DP profile, so no audio streaming. And it doesn't have keypad on HU. And slight display unit changes: it has DOT matrix and white color unlike MP68 that has 4096 color support.

Sound qualitywise no difference.
